Some years ago, we – that is Ludger and Antje Bunse – had the idea, on top of our day jobs to build a small hotel simply because we fancied the idea and because we are passionate about furnishing. It had to be comfortable, have a cosy and personal atmosphere and make
the guests feel at home. We collected ideas during our travels, in particular in hotels in Holland, France and Belgium. Then we bought ourselves a wonderful old VW Bus and travelled round Europe where we purchased items from the many antique markets, dealers and well-known street markets that we visited. We started collecting our furnishings and many decorative items in this way before we even started building. You will find bistro tables in our hotel – stools from Paris, mirrors from Orléans, rocking horses and chandeliers from Gascony, a writing desk from Graubuenden, wooden benches from Holland and many other things besides. We are particularly proud of our personalised porcelain from Limoges.
We also relied on antiques when we built the hotel. Historic bricks from Holland, old tiles from Burgundy and wooden floorboards had to be in keeping with the setting. We hope we have kept to our criteria and that you will feel comfortable, will be able to relax and perhaps, even from a distance, feel as if you really are “at home”.
We bid you a warm welcome!
Yours Antje und Ludger Bunse
